Reviews

Port Fairy Fest is not too bad a festival when you can see Emma Swift, Robyn Hitchcock and Davey Lane weave their magic four days in a row.
Robyn Hitchcock & Emma Swift played two one hour shows each over the weekend. Except for Sad Eyed Lady of the Lowlands, Emma performed, at both shows, all the songs from Blonde On The Tracks, plus a duet with Robyn of Just Like A Woman and a stunning version of Visions of Johanna to end the shows. Robyn’s two shows were significantly different from each other, with only a few songs repeated. Robyn, with Davey Lane, covered Syd Barrett’s last Pink Floyd song Jugband Blues at both shows. During Robyn’s
last show, Emma performed a stunning version of Procol Harum’s Whiter Shade of Pale in an unsaid tribute to the late great Gary Brooker. Much to Davey Arnold Lane pleasure, Adventure Rocket Ship was performed at both of Robyn’s shows. No set lists, as it is an exhausting four day festival where Guinness is consumed (even Monday morning)!
