Online review by MusomusoNestled in the picturesque countryside of Devon, Beautiful Days Festival is more than just a music festival—it's an annual pilgrimage for those who cherish a unique blend of music, culture, and community spirit. Held every year at the enchanting Escot Park, just a stone’s throw from Exeter, this festival has grown into one of the UK’s most beloved events. Hosted by the legendary Levellers, who pour their heart and soul into curating the experience, Beautiful Days offers a weekend filled with unforgettable performances, endless entertainment, and a true celebration of the arts.
I dashed over to watch the amazingly talented and very ‘groovy’ ROBYN HITCHCOCK, I saw him in Exeter a few years back and his show was immense so there was no way I was missing his performance at the Big Top. For anyone not familiar with his work, Robyn Hitchcock is one of the most enigmatic and popular figures in the world of alternative rock and psychedelic folk music. With a career spanning over four decades, he has established himself as a cult favourite, blending surreal lyrics, jangly guitars, and a distinctive sense of ‘Britishness’ into a sound that is entirely his own. With an impressive back catalogue under his belt which covered work from The Soft Boys, The Egyptians and the plethora of projects he has worked upon over the past 40 years, there was no shortage of quality tracks to keep the audience enthused throughout his show. I even got to meet him after his performance and chat about his career, lovely chap!
